Sat 20 Mar 5:30pm Warriors Ericsson W16-10 'A win of character'. Without Barrett, Gasnier, Bailey, Firman, Ryles, Perenara and Long, Saints came back from 10-nil and have repeated their famous 'underdog' win when they defeated the Warriors in NZ in 2002. Dragons upset Warriors in shock win pics

Sun 28 Mar 3:00pm Storm Olympic L34-6 Totally outclassed by a far more committed Melbourne outfit. Unable to control the ruck area, Saints had less than 40% of the ball and were on the wrong end of a 13-6 penalty count. Back to the drawing board. Orford shines as Storm crush Dragons pics

Australia defeating New Zealand in the one-off Test match. Shaun Timmins and Luke Bailey stand-outs. Bailey however pulling up the following day with a calf injury and withdrawing from the club match against Easts. Timmins, Bailey come through Test match

Barrett and Bailey late withdrawals. A tight match which was up for grabs all the way, Lance Thompson playing a blinder. Controversy surrounding a Gasnier 'no-try' where video ref Chris Ward ruled obstruction against Saints.

Sat 1 May 7:30pm Sharks Toyota W42-12 Another huge effort from Lance Thompson and a big win to Saints as they dominated the match for the first 20 minutes and again in the final 20 minutes. 3 tries to Ben Hornby, 2 tries to Mark Gasnier. A record crowd at Toyota Park. Barrett and Bailey still out. Try-fecta to Hornby as Saints smash Sharks pics

7 May City v Country ExpressAdvocate Stadium, Gosford Country 22 defeated City 18 Saints rep players: Lance Thompson and Mark Riddell (City); Nathan Blacklock, Matt Cooper and Brent Kite (Country). Gasnier selected but pulled out due to injury.
Blacklock and Thompson injured in the match and out for several weeks.

Sun 9 May 3:00pm Sea Eagles Brookvale L21-10 With a number of players out including Lance Thompson and Trent Barrett, Saints were no match for an enthuiastic Manly side. Third placed, Saints were beaten both sides of the ruck by the last team on the ladder.
The following day, it was announced that Luke Bailey was out for the season with a chest injury.

Sat 15 May 5:30pm Bulldogs WIN L38-12 Saints looked a chance in the first half and were probably unlucky to be down 12-2 at half time. But in the second half, a hot Bulldogs side piled on the points against an injury-plagued Dragons outfit. Further complications with Ryles and Cooper being forced off with knee injuries. Fri 21 May 7:30pm Eels Parramatta W 37-6 An troubled lead-up with injuries and Mark Gasnier being sacked from the NSW squad and sidelined.
A great second half effort from Saints who were without 10 regular first graders - Mathew Head and Ben Creagh leading the way. Nathan Blacklock re-injured his hamstring in the first 15 minutes. A late inclusion, Jason Ryles was named as captain.

26 May NSW v QLD Sydney NSW 9 - QLD 8 State of Origin I.
Ben Hornby, Shaun Timmins and Brent Kite representing NSW with solid performances. Timmins named man-of-the-match after scoring NSW's only try and kicking the winning field goal in extra time.

Fri 28 May 7:30pm Broncos Suncorp L 24-22 A narrow loss on the road. Both sides guilty of errors but an exciting match nonetheless which was up for grabs for most of the second half. Saints led 16-12 at half time before the Broncos lifted to take a match winning 24-16 lead. Saints never gave up, scoring a try in the 80th minute. Sat 5 June 7:30pm Cowboys WIN L 14-12 A try just after kickoff and another just before half time were the main turning points to give the Cowboys a deserved victory. Often flat in attack, Saints only lifted in the latter stages, scoring twice but eventually running out of time.
A frustrating evening, Saints had difficulty completing their sets and this was further exasperated by some below par goal kicking, with Head missing all three conversion attempts.

Fri 11 June 7:30pm Panthers Penrith W 28-8 A soild defensive effort as Saints hold a 4-0 lead at halftime. They then powered on in the second half to outclass an understrengthed Panthers side. An impressive team performance from the Dragons and a successful return for Barrett playing his first match in 8 weeks. Saints without Ryles, Timmins, Blacklock and Gasnier. Dragons back to winning ways at Penrith pics

Sun 20 June 3:00pm Wests Tigers Kogarah W 50-0 A tremendous day at Kogarah with Saints beating Wests Tigers across the park. Leading 22-0 at half time, the match was never in doubt.
Mathew Head ran riot and Mark Gasnier picked up four tries.

Sun 27 June 3:00pm Rabbitohs Syd Cricket Ground W 52-12 32 points in the first 25 minutes as Saints put in a near perfect display of attacking football. Barrett and Head deploying a high kicking game to blow Souths away early on. Thompson was tremendous up front before being assisted off with a sprained ankle and is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks. 7 July NSW v QLD Sydney NSW 36 - QLD 14 State of Origin III.
Mark Gasnier, Trent Barrett, Jason Ryles, Brent Kite, Matt Cooper and Shaun Timmins all featuring for NSW.
Gasnier starred, scoring two tries but was injured with a cracked collarbone, putting him out for 2-4 weeks.

Fri 9 July 7:30pm Broncos WIN L 28-14 The Broncos handling the wet conditions well while Saints struggled. Far too much dropped ball and a failure to complete sets.
In a frustrating night, Barrett dislocated his shoulder & was unable to play second half (out for several weeks). Riddell cited for a dangerous throw and suspended for one week. David Howell also suspended for striking.

Fri 16 July 7:30pm Roosters Aussie L 18-14 Fielding a depleted line-up, the Dragons out-played a near full-strength Roosters in the first half to lead 14-0.
Saints continued to hold their own in the second half but while down to 12 men, let in two tries; eventually conceding 18 points in a little over 10 minutes.
Shaun Timmins forced off, suspected broken cheekbone.

Sun 25 July 3:00pm Sharks Kogarah W 26-14 An 'ugly win' with Saints getting out of the blocks early and finishing strongly. Overall messy but good enough to defeat an error-prone Sharks outfit. Local derby belongs to the Dragons pics

Sat 31 July 7:30pm Cowboys Dairy Farmers L 34-10 A flat Saints outfit unable to come up with an effective game plan and just out-played by the Cowboys. The home side's defence being a feature of the match in what is looking like their best season on record. Cowboys beat Dragons as their charge to the finals continues pics

Fri 6 Aug 7:30pm Storm WIN W 34-14 A return to form with Timmins a late inclusion. Head, Barrett and Ryles all standing out as Saints cruised in the second half with the wind at their backs after leading 12-4 at the break. The Storm, without Scott Hill and after an 18 week suspension to Danny Williams, were simply outclassed. Two late tries to the Storm a bit disappointing for the Dragons. Dragons power home pics

Mathew Head scoring 2 tries in 5 minutes to turn the match while Brent Kite topped the tackle count, hit-ups, and metres gained for Saints. Sun 29 Aug 2:30pm Sea Eagles Kogarah W 36-34 A remarkable comeback. Trailing 34-10 with 25 minutes to go, Saints rallied with Nathan Blacklock scoring two tries and setting up another. Saints only hitting the front for the first time in the 78th minute. Dragons win in miracle comeback pics

With Penrith beating Broncos and Manly beating Storm, Saints have finished the regular season in 5th position on the ladder and will play Penrith next week in the semi-finals opener. Dragons Premier League secure minor premiership

Fri 10 Sept 8:00pm Panthers Penrith L 31-30 Finals week one.
Penrith came out firing to lead 24-0 after only 17 minutes. But Saints came back to 24-12 at half time. Following their early onslaught, the Panthers managed an intercept try in the second half. But Saints continued their comeback, scoring 30-7. But it wasn't enough with a field goal being the difference.

            In other matches, The Storm defeated the Broncos and Cowboys defeated the Bulldogs, effectively eliminating Saints from the 2004 competition. The Raiders were also eliminated after their loss to the Roosters.
